Profile description: Systems Administrator/Solutions Officer
We are seeking a proactive System Administrator / Solutions Support Officer responsible for system administration and service desk support. You will ensure the availability, security, and performance of our environments and services, while driving automation and providing excellent user support.
Key Responsibilities
System Administration (≈50%)
Monitor and maintain Linux servers and services across production, staging, training, and test environments.
Install, configure, and maintain servers and tools (e.g. EBX, Proxmox VE/BSE, Jenkins, Gitea, Grafana, Matomo).
Manage user accounts and access for developers and team members.
Handle backups, security patches, redundancy, failover, disaster recovery, and system upgrades.
Troubleshoot and resolve issues affecting availability and performance.
Develop and maintain automation scripts (Bash, Groovy, Python) for deployments, monitoring, and recurring operational tasks.
Service Desk / Help Desk (≈50%)
Respond to user requests and incidents within SLA.
Manage JIRA tickets (incidents, service requests, change requests) and escalate when needed.
Maintain knowledge base articles and e-learning materials.
Support users after releases and contribute to continuous process improvement in an agile environment.
Requirements:
Technical Requirements:
Strong experience with Debian Linux system administration (key requirement).
Experience with multiple Linux distributions (e.g. Ubuntu, CentOS, RHEL) is a strong plus.
Experience with:
Jenkins (CI/CD pipelines, jobs, automation).
Bash / shell scripting on Linux.
Automation of operational tasks (deployments, backups, checks, etc.).
Groovy for Jenkins pipelines (or willingness to learn quickly).
Basic–intermediate Python for scripting and tooling.
Knowledge of:
IaaS environments
PostgreSQL
IP networking
Apache HTTP Server, Tomcat
Icinga monitoring
VPN frameworks (IPSec / OpenVPN)
Familiarity with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence) or similar ticketing systems is a plus.
Job requirements
General
Degree in IT or related field, or equivalent experience.
5+ years in a similar sysadmin role.
Strong communication skills; fluent in English.
Solid troubleshooting, analytical, and prioritization skills.
Self-motivated, organized, and collaborative.
